Experience the colour of the Basque festivals, devour the famous local produce of Fois Gras, Perigourd truffles, Arcachon oysters and cheese, delve into the rich basque and landes cultures and above all, explore the world's largest fine wine regions, Bordeaux and St Emillion and taste its sweet nectars as we go.  This tour has been carefully crafted for those gourmet travellers that like to travel in a bit of style. This carefully crafted tour starts in the Bordeaux, the wine capital of France. Forget Paris or Lyon, Bordeaux is one of France’s most exciting, vibrant and culturally diverse cities with everything on offer. Its beautifully renovated 18th Century architecture takes you back into France’s heyday and is today is the largest urban UNESCO listed world heritage site. Bordeaux is the wine capital of the France and has one of the world’s greatest wine museum. Bordeaux also has an exceptional dining scene and  a lively arts and cultural scene that is definitely worth delving into. After a days exploring the City of Bordeauxand tasting its delights, we travel out into the Bordeaux wine region, where we enjoy accommodation in the vines for the next 2 nights. For the next few days, we explore 2 of Bordeaux's best wine areas, Graves and St Emillion, and of course taste some of the region's Grand Cru wines. Next we head up the Dordogne, a perfect destination for al those gourmands and be introduced to the delicacies that this region has to offer. The Dordogne region of France is famous for its magnificent castles, truffles and fois gras and is where we stay in a luxury chateau just outside of Perigueux for the next 3 nights.  Whilst in the region, we explore the magnificent Perigord Noir, an area that follows the Dordogne river and is famous for its many medieval castles and villages and quaint Bastide towns. We spend a day in the historic town of Perigueux and visit its lively markets with a renowned local chef before heading for a cooking class and lunch by the river Isle. At night, we enjoy a truffle masterclass and dinner back at the chateau.

From the Dordogne, we head towards the coast to visit one of Frances's destinations for the rich and famous, Arcachon. Here we taste oysters and mussels, fresh off the boats, climb to the top of Europe's largest sand dune, Dune de Pyla or explore the towns lively markets and superb mansions and villas. We continue the tour by following the spectacular Atlantic Coast to the chic seaside village of Soorts-Hossegor, to relax or explore the the landes and Basque coastal areas and enjoy their local villages for the next 4 days. Heading up into the Pyrenees mountains, we explore the mysterious Basque cultures that have inhabited this region for centuries and taste their unique cusine, before heading to our last destination, the great foodie city of San Sebastian.  Internationally acclaimed for its culinary prowess, and where there is no less than 9 Michelin starred restaurants, San Sebastian is the perfect end to this tour.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Mary and John, 2018

An amazing trip.  The attention to detail is second to none. The small group allowed us to explore the South of France in comfort and class. The accommodation was first class. And the food fantastic. There was a variety of selected experiences which made the trip amazing. The time at leasure allowed individuals to explore on their own or with the group. All in all a wonderful trip. I would highly recommend BB Yonder travel for singles couples or a whole group.

JILL, 2018

If you want a trip where the only decisions you really have to make is what sort of wine to drink, then this is the tour to take. Our every need was catered for, the food and wine was amazing. BB Yonder took us to the places the locals visit and allowed us to experience life in France for a short period of time. This was the most relaxing trip I have had in a long time .

LIBBY, 2018:

This is a 'once in a lifetime' trip and BB Yonder will certainly ensure you will be filled with excellent memories. Lots of special and 'off the beaten track' experiences. Very well planned and executed.
